In a tranquil waterside setting beside the Grand Western Canal, the self catering cottages at Whipcott Water provide a perfect base from which to explore this part of the South West. Exmoor National Park is a short drive away, and the south coast resorts of Sidmouth, Exmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach.
 

Our Devon/Somerset self catering holiday cottages all offer a very high standard of accommodation.

We have six cottages, sleeping up to 6 people, and another smaller cottage about 300yds from the canal which sleeps 2 people.

     

Exmoor National Park is a short drive away, and the south coast resorts of Sidmouth, Exmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach.

 


  Barge, Flare, Towpath, Wicket, Wharf and Paddock offer modern, light, airy self catering accommodation. Each cottage has a double bedroom with king-size bed upstairs and a twin bedroom on the ground floor.  Towpath and Wicket have an additional sleeping area.  Downstairs is an open plan lounge/dining area with patio doors leading out onto a covered veranda and private hot tub.

  Each cottage has a well-equipped kitchen and a ground floor bathroom with a shower over the bath. Barge cottage is suitable for some disabled guests, with a larger entrance hall and wider doors to enable wheelchair access. This cottage also has a seat in the downstairs shower for disabled visitors. All cottages are detached, with ample parking next to each one.

  Hopper Cottage is especially suitable for disabled guests who wish to travel independently, and for families with disabled children or elderly relatives.

This cottage has two twin bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms.

 

   
  The disabled bedroom has electrically controlled beds, and the bathroom has a wheel-in shower, disabled toilet and washbasin.

The open plan lounge and dining area is particularly spacious affording easy manoeuvrability.
   

 

 
The kitchen has a waist-high cooker, hob and sink unit, suitable for wheelchair users.

The canal runs beside Hopper Cottage, and there is direct access to the level towpath.
 
 
 
   

 

Little Whipcott is a delightful one bedroom cottage which adjoins the owners’ property, and enjoys lovely views of the surrounding countryside towards the Blackdown Hills. The cottage has a comfortable lounge with two sofas, a woodburner effect fire, colour TV and DVD player.  
  The well-equipped kitchen has a cooker, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer. There is a dining area in the kitchen. The bedroom has a 6’ zipper-linked bed, which can be separated into twin beds if required, and there is a bathroom with WC. Bed linen and towels are supplied. Little Whipcott has its owned lawned area within the owners’ garden, with a barbeque and garden furniture.
   

 

 
Whipcott Water Cottages are open all year, and provide comfortable self catering cottage accommodation whatever the weather. Pets are allowed in some cottages
